About
Ilkasar rises to 1,482 m above the Vedi valley, a modest summit by Armenian standards that earns its place on the view: Ararat fills the western horizon and the red rock country along the edge of the Khosrov reserve falls away to the south. The approach crosses open steppe with almost no shade, which makes it a spring or autumn climb rather than a summer one. Clubs usually pair it with Angels' Canyon, 5.8 km to the south-east.
