Mount Khustup

About
Khustup rises to 3,206 m directly above Kapan, a dark rock pyramid that dominates the skyline of southern Syunik and is visible from most of the province. The Vachagan river rises on its northern flank. Garegin Nzhdeh is buried on its slopes, which makes the ascent a pilgrimage as much as a hike for many Armenians — the peak was chosen for the reverse of Armenia's 2022 David Bek commemorative coin. A long single-day climb on loose upper ground.
