About
A narrow slot gorge with high vertical cliffs on the northern slopes of Mount Vardablur ("Wolf's Ears"), in Areni community, Vayots Dzor. It is a side branch of the larger Gravi Canyon. The approach crosses the abandoned village sites of the Arpa valley — Gandzak, with its ruined church and chapel, lies 1.8 km west of the gorge mouth. Armenian Geographic runs it both as a stand-alone hike and combined with the ascent of Vardablur (2,452 m).
