About
A 450 m deep gorge cut by the Gnishik river through red volcanic cliffs, running 5.5 km from Gnishik village (2,024 m) down to the Arpa near Areni. Noravank monastery stands 800 m from the canyon mouth, which is why clubs also sell it as Noravank Gorge. Caves, rock formations and seasonal waterfalls after rain; 9th-10th century khachkars near Rind village.
